One: We are the descendants of gospel trouble-makers!
Many: Holy Spirit, breathe the fire of your life into our hearts!
One: Those trouble-makers questioned those who would speak on God’s behalf to us, and on our behalf to God.
Many: O God, renew in us a commitment to be responsible for our own relationship with you!
One: Those trouble-makers renounced the use of the church for promotion of human power.
Many: Jesus Christ, forgive us when we use your name to promote ourselves and our own agendas.
One: Those trouble-makers sought to know you and to follow you with all their hearts, minds, and bodies.
Many: O God, Three-in-One, open our hearts and minds to the pouring out of your Spirit; may we embrace the dreams and visions you intend for us.
All: Continue to breathe the fire of your life into our hearts, and make us channels of that life to your church and your world!
