The pastor asked me to write a column for the weekly newsletter when I opened a counseling center at Forestdale Baptist Church years ago. I wrote Insights for Living. I learned more about life and coping with problems every week, so had plenty to talk about. I opened another counseling center at First Baptist Church Prattville and the church asked if they could start publishing Insights for Living too. Churches share their newsletters and I began to hear of Insights for Living being published in faraway places. I loved the idea of helping people through my writing.

My counseling work eventually consumed all my time and I stopped writing. That was the 1990s. Fast forward to 2010. The Ministering to Ministers Foundation recruited me to its board. I started writing something every week to try to make the ministry better known. I had forgotten how much I learn about myself when I write. The more I wrote, the more I wanted to write. I started Theological Reflections.com as an excuse to write more about the things I am learning.

I like to tell stories, and to write, so in addition to theological reflections.com, I publish dailyoptionstrategies.com and tomdenham.com.
